Rates and Advanced Looting

On Sol every character picks its own EXP rate. Slow leveling is rewarded with a permanent drop bonus at level 230.

Choosing your rates

  • The first time a character logs in, a window asks for its base EXP rate (1 to 100) and its job EXP rate (the same as base, or another number). A new character can also choose the Booster program here.
  • Change them any time with @baserate <1-100> and @jobrate <1-100>. @ratecheck (or @rates) shows them.
  • Until a character has chosen, it levels at the server's base rate of 1x.
  • The rate multiplies EXP from monsters and from quests. Battle Manuals and similar items still stack on top.
  • Every EXP payment (a monster kill, a quest, hunting board missions, bounties, the Illusion dailies, Sunken Tower) pays the whole amount at your rate, several levels at once if it reaches that far.
  • EXP manuals (Battle Manual, Field Manual, Field Manual 300%, JOB Battle Manual) can be traded, dropped, stored, mailed and sold. The Booster combat manuals stay with the character.
  • In a party, each member gets EXP at their own rate.
  • Instance difficulty adds EXP on top: a Hell monster gives double EXP, and your rate multiplies that (Instances).

Other server rates: drops are 20x, dying costs no EXP, and drops have no level-gap penalty. The renewal EXP level-gap penalty still applies.

Advanced Looting

When a character reaches base level 230, it gets a permanent drop bonus. The bonus depends on the highest base rate the character used before level 230, not on its current rate. Raising your rate before 230 lowers it for good; lowering it later does not bring it back.

Highest base rate before 230 1x 5x 10x 20x 25x 30x 40x 50x 60x 70x 75x 80x 90x 91x and up
Advanced Looting +50% +48% +45% +39% +37% +34% +28% +23% +17% +12% +9% +6% +1% 0%

The formula: bonus = 50 x (91 - rate) / 90, rounded, never below 0.

  • The bonus is kept forever, through every job change.
  • It applies to normal drops, MVP reward items and map-wide drops (such as Hunting Coins and Illusion Stones).
  • It adds to Bubble Gum and card drop bonuses. Instance difficulty multiplies it: +50% looting on Hell (+100%) gives three times the chance. The 90% drop cap still applies.
  • @ratecheck shows what you will get at 230 with your current highest rate.
  • Job rate has no effect on looting.

The Booster lock

A Booster levels at 1x base and 1x job EXP, permanently: @baserate and @jobrate refuse with "You are a Booster: your EXP rates stay at 1x for good." In return a Booster gets the full +50% Advanced Looting at 230, like any character that stayed at 1x, plus the booster packs and shop.
