Getting started
Sol is a private server for friends. This page is the short path from nothing to your first character; the rest of the wiki starts where it ends.
Connect
- Join the Tailscale network first. The server and the game download are reached through Tailscale, so you need the invite from the server's owner and Tailscale running on your PC (also while you play). Without it the installer says it cannot reach Sol's server, and the client hangs at "Please wait...".
- Install the client with
Sol-Setup-2.0.0(since 2026-10-16; keep the installer link private). It asks for a folder (defaultC:\Games\Sol2026; it installs beside an old Sol client and doesn't touch it), then downloads the game data, about 4.8 GB, from Sol's server. Need about 10 GB free. A broken download resumes when you run the setup again. If Windows SmartScreen says "Windows protected your PC", choose More info → Run anyway; if your antivirus flagsrpatchur.exeorSol.exe, allow it. - Start Sol with the "Sol 2026" shortcut. It opens the Sol launcher, which downloads Sol's updates by itself and then shows Play. Play starts the game, and Windows asks for admin rights once (the game needs them, as the official client does). If an update fails, "Play anyway" still starts the game; if the game itself is broken, run the setup again.
- Log in with the account the owner made for you and press Enter on the dialog (clicking the button with the mouse can drop the session on this client).
The old client (C:\Games\Sol) can't log in any more: it disconnects at the character screen. Uninstall it whenever
you like.
If the login works but you hang at the character screen, tell the owner: it is a server-side address problem.
Your first character
- Choose your EXP rate. At your first login a prompt asks for it: 1x to 100x, per character. A slow rate earns a
permanent drop bonus at level 230, and you can change it with
@baserateand@jobrate(Rates and Advanced Looting). If you want the challenge version, the Booster program fixes your rate at 1x for good and hands out gear at every milestone. - Claim your free gear. Talk to the Paradise Team Member in Prontera, or in the hub, at level 10 (Paradise and Eden).
- Use the town services. The healer, storage, warper and Hunting Board stand in nine towns; the Job Master, stat
reset, stylist and card remover are in the hub (
@hub) (Town services, The hub). - Open the Hunting Board for three daily missions (Hunting) and run an instance from the Instance
Manager (
@instance) once you have a party (Instances).
