Class guides

One page for each 4th class with the same layout: role, stats and traits, leveling, gear by band, shadow set, cards, enchants, what is not on Sol yet, and where the advice comes from. These pages are groundwork. They collect what guides from other servers say, keep only the gear that exists on Sol, and mark every gap with a TODO line instead of guessing. Nothing here is tested on Sol, and skill numbers are Sol's own (rAthena's), not the kRO or iRO patch the guide was written for. The shape of a build (which stat, which threshold) is the useful part.

The classes

Line Pages
Swordman Dragon Knight, Imperial Guard
Archer and bard Windhawk, Troubadour and Trouvere
Thief Shadow Cross, Abyss Chaser
Mage Arch Mage, Elemental Master
Merchant Meister, Biolo
Acolyte Cardinal, Inquisitor
Expanded classes Soul Ascetic, Sky Emperor, Spirit Handler, Shinkiro and Shiranui, Night Watch, Hyper Novice

How far to trust a page

The advice comes from player guides and videos. Their numbers were not checked against the game's data or Divine Pride.

Evidence Meaning
A specific numbers, recent, and at least two sources agree or the author tested it
B one source, plausible and specific
C thin, outdated, or contradicted elsewhere: a hint, not a build

Windhawk is the best-documented class. The expanded classes are the thinnest, and Troubadour, Trouvere, Shinkiro, Shiranui, Night Watch and Hyper Novice have mostly Q&A and templates from private servers.

Gear ladders

Every class page ends its gear advice with a generated Gear ladder: the best obtainable pieces of each slot by equip level, with what each piece does in English (hover the name for the full text) and a link to where to get it. The pieces the class can wear are read from the server's item data, so they are correct for Sol even where the guide text is only groundwork. A full, uncapped list per class is under Full gear lists in the menu, and the page ends with the cards the guides use.

The same chain for every class

The pieces that every class page leans on exist on Sol. Each class page names only what is specific to it.

Band The shared chain
1-99 Paradise and Eden gear, the Hunting Board (level 1-99)
100-149 Noblesse, Imperial, Grace, Illusion, Thanos weapons, Temporal Boots (level 100-149)
150-199 Illusion OS and Automatic, Ancient Hero weapons, your Temporal circlet, Temporal armor and King Schmidt, Gray Wolf and Helm of Faith (level 150-199)
200-239 Snow Flower and Glacier, Thanatos Tower, Poenitentia, Varmundt rune gear, Solid, Wicked, Precision (level 200-239)
240+ Nebula, Deep rune armors, your Time Dimensions Rune Crown and a Dimensions weapon, Circulation of Life (level 240 and up)

Shadow gear is the same idea for every class: sets from Kachua and the Mileage shop, the Shadow Recycler, and the Master Shadow Smith. The sets the guides name most often:

Goal Set What it does
100 % defense ignore, physical Full Penetration 100 % ignore at refine sum 18 or more
100 % ignore, magic Full Tempest the same for magic defense
No weapon size penalty Infinity earring and pendant at refine sum 15+, or weapon and shield at +10
Physical damage Maximum Mammoth armor and shoes, about +12 % all elements
Magic damage True Gemstone, Magical Spell, Clever, Spell Caster more MATK, all-element magic, cast cut
Speed Separate Reload, Mega Blitz, Haste cooldown and ASPD
Stats Almighty all stats +10 on earring and pendant
Cheap 100 % ignore one class set plus one skill set cheaper than Full Penetration

Ideas that every guide repeats

  • Cast: variable cast to 100 % (stats early: 2 x DEX + INT at least 530, gear late), fixed cast to about 1 to 2 s from gear, and after-cast delay matched to the main skill's cooldown. ASPD 193 is the practical cap.
  • Traits (4th jobs, from 200): magic classes SPL 100 then CON; physical non-crit POW 100 then CON; physical crit POW 100 then CRT. Resets are free at the Reset Girl, so rebuilding at 200 costs nothing (Services).
  • Buffs and upkeep decide damage: Windhawk's No Limit, Shadow Cross's poison, Abyss Chaser's Hit and Sliding, Soul Ascetic's formation. Count the running cost (runes, bottles, ammo, talismans) before choosing a class.
  • Do not buy expensive accessories before the stat or cast threshold they were meant to help, and do not over-refine mid-game gear you will replace within a band.
  • Sol has no costume stones and no MVP pets, so every build loses roughly 5 to 15 % cast, cooldown or damage that the guides assume. See Not available yet.

Sources

The pages draw on text guides and video notes from kRO (Inven threads and videos), iRO (wiki and community guides), SMRO, muhRO, RO+, RockMMO, ROGGH and AtlantisRO, all paraphrased. Each class page ends with the sources it used. What is missing: no NovaRO, Reddit or WarpPortal forum text could be read, screenshots with stat tables were lost, and the newest kRO and iRO balance patches (2025-26) do not describe Sol's skills.
